DOZENS of passengers have died after a bus plunged down a hillside in a horror crash.
At least 55 people are dead and 20 are injured after the bus flipped over a hill in India.
The bus had been carrying worshippers from a Hindu temple in the hills of south India when the crash took place.
The driver reportedly lost control as he tried to avoid another bus on the crowded narrow road leading from the popular Anjaneya Swamy temple in Telangana state.
A major rescue operation is underway at the scene in Jagtyal district.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show passers-by carrying the injured up the hill after pulling them out of the mangled bus.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Twitter: “The bus accident in Telangana’s Jagtial district is shocking beyond words.
“Anguished by the loss of lives. My thoughts and solidarity with the bereaved families. I pray that the injured recover quickly.”
Among those killed was the bus driver, who lost both his legs in the accident and died in hospital.
Crowds often gather at the popular Anjaneya Swamy temple on Tuesdays where they offer prayers to the Hindi God Hanuman that it is dedicated to.
President Ram Nath Kovind has said that is shocked to learn about the accident.
Accidents on Indian roads claim the lives of more than 150,000 people every year.
Most of the accidents are blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
