THE MET OFFICE has issued new rain weather warnings, stating that heavy rain and high winds may be expected in some locations – but will you be affected?

The Met Office has issued two severe weather warnings for Monday and Tuesday across the United Kingdom. Heavy downpours are predicted for Monday evening and overnight, according to the forecast.

Rain is forecast from 5 p.m. Monday to 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Met Office.

Two rain warnings have been issued for Monday and Tuesday, according to the forecaster.

The warning states that a few homes and businesses may be flooded, and that bus and train services will be disrupted, causing travel times to be longer.

Travel times will be impacted by road spray and floods.

“A belt of heavy rain, accompanied by strong and gusty winds, will sweep eastwards from Wales and southwest England into central and southern England this evening,” says the warning, which goes into force at 5 p.m. on Monday.

“In some areas in southwest England, South Wales, and north-western Wales, 0.8 to 1.2 inches (20mm to 30mm) of rain might fall in a few hours, with as much as 1.6 to 2.4 inches (40mm to 50mm) in a few spots.”

“With the exception of northwest Wales, western areas of the warning area will get drier from the west during the evening.”

London, South East England, Wales, the West Midlands, and the South West of England are all affected by this alert.

The second warning will be in effect from 2 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Rain, accompanied by strong winds, will travel north and eastwards throughout the area early Tuesday, becoming slow-moving over areas of northeast England and, later, eastern England,” according to the rain warning.

“Rainfall is forecast to range from 0.6 to 1.2 inches (15mm to 30mm).” Rainfall of 1.6 to two inches (40mm to 50mm) is expected in some portions of eastern and northeastern England, with two to three inches (50mm to 75mm) probable in a few spots.” Rain is forecast in numerous sections of the country, including the East Midlands, East of England, North East England, North West England, Yorkshire and the Humber.

Showers are anticipated across much of the United Kingdom on Monday and throughout the week.

On Monday, the forecast predicts some potentially strong downpours in several locations, particularly in the west and southeast.
