‘He was just pursuing girls,’ George Clooney says of ‘knucklehead’ Donald Trump.

GEORGE CLOONEY addressed knowing Donald Trump before his presidency.

George Clooney, 60, revealed Donald Trump was “just a guy who was chasing girls” before he made it to the White House, as he opened up on how the reality TV star has “battered” America during his stint as President. In an interview with BBC’s Andrew Marr on Sunday, where he appeared to promote his new movie The Tender Bar, Clooney revealed he knew Trump way before his political career.

“It’s so funny, because he was just this knucklehead,” he chuckled.

“I knew him before he was a president. He was just a guy who was chasing girls.”

He added: “Every time you went out he’d be like, ‘What’s the name of that girl?’

“That’s all he was.”

The director, who appeared last night on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of The Tender Bar with his wife Amal, also admitted he would rather have a “nice life” than wade back into the political arena, as he wants to reduce his workload now he’s 60.

But while he ruled out having a second career in politics, he addressed President Joe Biden running a country that is still recovering from the damage caused by Trump.

Clooney hoped that Americans have “a little better sense” than to return him to the White House.

“It’s like taking a battered child and thinking everything’s going to be OK his first day in school,” he explained.

“There’s a lot of things that have to be repaired, there’s a lot of healing that has to happen.

“And it’s going to take time.”

It comes after the actor was doing the rounds on social media once again for his “powerful” response to Trump’s accusation that he is part of the “Hollywood elite”.

Fans gushed over his response, which he made in December, where he said: “Heres the thing, I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door to door. I sold ladies shoes.

“I worked in an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
