An 11-year-old girl has been found dead inside a home south of Brisbane.
The young girl’s body was discovered at the Mount Cotton home on Thursday night, along with a woman, believed to be her mother, who was suffering serious injuries.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was rushed to Redland Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not life threatening.
Police said no one else was being sought in relation to the child’s death, and officers were investigating what lead to the tragic incident.

An autopsy will be carried out on Friday to determine the cause of the girl’s death.
Police are yet to confirm the pair were related but the woman is believed to be the girl’s mother.
