Girl, 5, dies waiting for heart transplant as heartbroken family pays tribute

A LITTLE girl has died while waiting for a heart transplant – with her heartbroken family paying tribute to her.

Thalia-Beau Wright’s mum had been told her only hope was a heart transplant, but tragically the youngster died before she could have one.

The five-year-old had restrictive cardiomyopathy which stiffens the heart ventricles.

And this week her parents announced the tragic news, saying she was “and always will be the best thing” that ever happened to them.

They wrote on Facebook: “How will we ever live without your beautiful heart and soul? How will the world still turn without you in it?

“How will there be light without your smile? Nearly sic blissful years of you here in our arms, and a lifetime ahead with you in our hearts.

“We can’t even live a day without you. Our family will forever be broken but we will live in this heartache knowing how blessed we were to call you ours. Sleep tight our precious princess.”

The family have set up a fundraising page to raise money for the little girl’s funeral.

An emotional message on the site reads: “In 2018 Thalia-Beau was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, throughout the last 2 years, Thalia’s family have highlighted to so many the organ donation journey, raising thousands of pounds for variety of charities that have supported her.

“They have reached out to so many people and this contacts means she will live on in so many peoples thoughts and hearts forever.

Thalia was loved and treasured by so many, she was adored. Sassy beyond belief, a personality beyond her years, beautiful, precious and kind, she could light up any room.”

Mum Ellie-Mae previously described how her “world changed forever” after Thalia-Beau was diagnosed with the rare condition in November 2018.

She said: “When I was told what was wrong with her everything started going slow. My whole world crumbled down around me. I couldn’t believe it.”

In July, Talia’s grandmother Christine Johnson, told the Mirror it had been great news she had been put on the transport list.

But tragically Talia’s health took a turn for the worst as she waited for a new organ and she died.
