Food shortages in their entirety: Every restaurant affected by shortages – and how it affects you

FOOD SHORTAGES have wreaked havoc on the UK supply system, leaving swaths of businesses short on supplies. Here is a complete list of businesses affected by food shortages.

One of the key causes of the food crisis now wreaking havoc on the UK’s food supply has been described as a dearth of lorry drivers. Empty shelves in supermarkets have becoming more typical, but food shops and restaurants have also noticed shortages.

There have been reports of product shortages in the following food establishments:

Wetherspoon’s, a popular pub chain, has stated that certain of their beer items are in short supply.

“We are experiencing some supply challenges with both Carling and Coors, which means that some pubs may not have the items available,” Wetherspoon spokesperson Eddie Gershon said.

“We apologize for any trouble this has caused our consumers. We’re aware that the brewers are working to find a solution.”

KFC, the world’s most famous chicken restaurant, recently admitted to having supply challenges.

“Just a heads up that there’s been some disturbance around our country over the last several weeks – so things may be a little different when you next visit us,” KFC wrote on Twitter.

“Some items may be unavailable, and our packaging may differ from what you are used to. We understand that it isn’t ideal, but we’re doing our best to keep things moving smoothly.”

Those expecting a milkshake or bottled beverage from fast-food chain McDonald’s may be disappointed at this time.

“Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain challenges, affecting the availability of a small number of products,” a McDonald’s representative stated.

“In restaurants across England, Scotland, and Wales, bottled beverages and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable.

“We apologize for any inconvenience, and we appreciate our customers’ patience.

“We are working very hard to have these foods back on the menu as quickly as possible.”

Peri-Peri chicken is another popular brand. Due to food delivery delays, Nando’s had to close or decrease the hours of operation of many outlets recently.

“We expect to see this having a beneficial influence on the affected restaurants very soon,” a spokeswoman said. “In the meanwhile, please bear with us as we do everything we can to get our iconic PERi-PERi chicken back where it belongs — on your plates!”

Like other food outlets, bakery business Greggs has been affected by poultry shortages.
