Fans fawn at Thiago’s magnificent Liverpool goal, which has been dubbed “filth.”
Thiago Alcantara gave Liverpool the lead with an incredible perfectly hit volley that seemed to defy the rules of physics. Fans of Liverpool, obviously, went crazy on social media. Thiago’s incredibly stunning piece of brilliance that broke the deadlock during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Porto on Wednesday night left Liverpool fans speechless.
Liverpool has already won five games in a row in the Champions League this season, putting them 10 points clear at the top of Group B with one game remaining.
With 20 minutes remaining, Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal of the game, but the focus will be on Thiago.
After the ball was headed clear from a Liverpool free-kick, the former Bayern Munich star unleashed a stunning half-volley from the edge of the box that was worth the entry fee alone.
The strike appeared to defy physics, as the ball sank, then climbed back up before slamming into the bottom corner of Diogo Costa’s Porto goal.
Liverpool supporters, understandably, erupted with joy on social media.
“That Thiago goal is utter filth, absolutely absolute filth,” one fan remarked. “The way it skims the grass, it almost looks strange.”
“Thiago’s ludicrous technique,” wrote another.
“That’s the most aesthetically pleasing goal I’ve seen this season!” exclaimed another admirer.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, gushed about his Spanish superstar after the game.
“Incredible! I see that in training, and I know he has the technique to do it, but thunderbolts don’t always happen “explained the German.
“We needed a few lucky breaks, and they had a lot of chances on the counter-attack.”
Thiago’s Liverpool career has not been without its ups and downs.
Since arriving at Anfield last year, the 30-year-old has been troubled by injuries, and despite his talent, some have questioned whether he is stylistically suited to Klopp’s high-energy, aggressive midfield.
Regardless, his goal tonight is all the proof Reds fans will need to defend his inclusion in the lineup.
