2021 has begun with a bang by a British ticket holder – and a £ 39 million EuroMillions jackpot.
The winning numbers last night were 16, 28, 32, 44 and 48, with 01 and 09 lucky stars.
Just one ticket claimed the jackpot of £ 39,774,466.40.
“What an amazing start to 2021 for UK EuroMillions players,” said Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s senior winning advisor. Tonight, one UK winner reached the entire £ 39 million EuroMillions jackpot, and in the special UK Millionaire Creator New Year promotion, 10 lucky players won £ 1 million each.
In the UK, five lottery winners are yet to come forward to collect their festive prizes, two of which have raised £ 1 million.
“Players are urged to check their tickets online via the National Lottery app or website, or in their local store, and call us to claim the first big prizes of 2021.”
No one claimed the EuroMillons Hotpicks jackpot, which uses the same numbers as the main draw, but the Thunderball top prize of £ 500,000 was picked up by one winner.
The numbers for the Thunderball were 13, 17, 30, 34, 35, and 01 was for the Thunderball.
Mr Carter added: “National Lottery players make a huge difference across the country to the good causes of the National Lottery, raising about £ 30 million every week on average.”
About £ 800 million has been distributed around the UK to date, thanks to National Lottery players, to help combat the effects of coronavirus, including more than £ 400 million to benefit the most vulnerable in our communities.’
The EuroMillions jackpot for Tuesday is an estimated 15 million pounds.
