Ella Rae Wise has been open about how difficult it is for her to accept her ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar’s new relationship with Chloe Lewis.
A week before she joined the Big Brother house, in January 2025, the 25-year-old TOWIE star broke up with her intermittent boyfriend Dan, 35, citing trust concerns.
Additionally, Dan announced last month that he is still in a relationship with his 35-year-old former co-star Chloe, whom he allegedly reconnected with during Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet’s Mallorca wedding last summer.
Both of them signed up for the reality show in 2015. Chloe left in 2019, the same year Ella was added.
The 36th series, which is currently showing on ITV2, was filmed at the beginning of the year and has several episodes set in Vietnam, where Ella and Dan are compelled to meet.
And making an appearance on the recently released You Alright Hun vodcast on TOWIE? This week, Ella shared her thoughts about her ex-boyfriend’s connection with Chloe and how to deal with him.
Ella Rae Wise has openly admitted that she is having “really hard” time accepting her ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar’s new relationship with Chloe Lewis (seen last month).
A week before she joined the Big Brother house, in January 2025, the 25-year-old TOWIE star broke up with her 35-year-old boyfriend Dan, alleging trust difficulties (seen together).
In an interview with host Denise Van Outen, she described it as a “really hard situation” that was made worse by the fact that she and Dan were “naturally drawn to each other” in social settings.
The TV personality admitted that she wished she had a “crystal ball” so she could know which course to pursue. “It was a lot,” Ella added, adding that she felt “very emotional” about the issue and was having trouble deciding what to do going forward. Additionally, I believe that being around your ex is quite difficult. As everyone is aware, I don’t have many friends on TOWIE. He is therefore somewhat acquainted to me. Occasionally, we are simply pulled to one another, almost instinctively. And it just happens; it’s not because we wish to treat the person he’s with or those around us disrespectfully.
And like, I don’t know, it’s a very difficult circumstance. I don’t think anyone can truly comment until they are aware of…
She continued, being open about her feelings for Dan: “I think I feel very emotional, obviously when I’m around him and I feel like when I’m out of it or I’m not around him and I’m like, I still give him a call, but I’m more me.” Do you understand what I mean?
And after that, I’m not sure; I just feel a little perplexed. With everything, I’m off with the fairies. Really, I have no idea what to do. Do I move on from it? Should I hold off? Oh, I would massage my crystal ball a lot if I had one.
Ella told the Daily Mail last month that she thought Dan’s relationship with Chloe was “cute,” but she acknowledged that she had felt intimidated by their intimacy while they were still together.
Additionally, Dan revealed last month that he is still in a relationship with his 35-year-old former co-star Chloe, whom he allegedly reconnected with during Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet’s Mallorca wedding last summer (seen together in 2016).
She was interviewed with castmates Dani Imbert, 28, and Harry Derbidge, 32, who all made jokes about how “incestuous” dating can be in Essex.
“That just sums up Essex,” Dani remarked. Because Essex is such a small town, you can’t date someone you don’t know. It is the reality we live in.
“It’s always a hard one,” Harry continued. Seeing someone you’ve been with depart is never easy. “But, you know, [it’s] a lesson, it makes you a bigger person and a lot stronger.”
Dan also talked about the challenges of being near to Ella when filming in Vietnam last month, describing it as a “tough situation.”
He admitted to Closer that having to keep up a friendship with his ex while balancing his new romance with Chloe was “never easy” and that he didn’t like seeing his former angry.
“He said, “It’s obviously not ideal to be away with your ex because the stuff with Ella is much more recent.”
She was still extremely upset over a lot of things, it turned out.I don’t like to see others angry, so it’s not pleasant. “I’m with someone else now and to be out there and see someone else upset and still trying to manage a friendship” was a difficult scenario to be in. It was all unfamiliar territory to attempt to traverse.Naturally, it’s never simple, but we’ve been making every effort to handle it.
Both of them joined the reality show in 2015. Chloe left in 2019, the same year Ella was recruited to the cast (Chloe pictured).
But he gushed about Chloe, his new love, stating, “She’s very understanding and very grown up as a person anyway.” She has experience with the show and is aware of how everything operates.
Dan stated that he is content with things being “separate” for the time being and added, “I’m in a good place with it all,” but he was hesitant to say whether she would ever return to TOWIE. Right now, everything is going smoothly.
When Chloe joined TOWIE in 2015, she became close friends with Kate Ferdinand, another of Dan’s ex-girlfriends who is currently wed to former football player Rio.
Before she finally departed the program after falling in love with Danny Flasher, her tenure was primarily focused on her intermittent relationship with Jake Hall.
She soon became pregnant with identical twins, but sadly lost one of them at eight weeks. In October 2019, she welcomed their six-year-old son, Beau.
But in an Instagram Q&A in 2023, Chloe disclosed that she and Danny had broken up after seven years of dating. She explained that the couple had quietly parted ways following a “rubbish” and “complicated” few years.
