Eden Hazard ‘still a Chelsea man’ as eagle-eyed fans spot one thing about Real Madrid star

EDEN HAZARD may have left Chelsea this summer but some fans have noticed that the club is still in his heart despite his move to Real Madrid.

Hazard made the long-awaited move from Chelsea to Real Madrid this summer in a deal that could rise to £130m.

The Belgian made no secret of his desire to play for Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid but showed his loyalty at the Blues by playing another year.

The 28-year-old spent seven years at Stamford Bridge where he won six major honours – including two Europa League trophies and two Premier Leagues.

But he joined Los Blancos as their marquee signing as Zidane plots an overhaul of the squad following an abysmal year that beckoned his return.

Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari were both axed in the space of a season as the legendary Frenchman rejoined the club just 10 months after his resignation.

His return was a major turning point in Hazard’s decision to make the move to the Spanish capital but he has not forgotten where he came from.

Madrid are on a pre-season tour in North America this summer with fans desperate to watch Hazard.

And some eagle-eyed Chelsea fans have noticed that the Blues are clearly on his mind.

The forward was seen with a phone case showing his children dressed in Chelsea kits.

One fan said: “Hazard still have Chelsea phone-case. Legend last forever.”

Another said: “Hazard still loves Chelsea. He went to Real Madrid to achieve his childhood dreams. The reason we are not angry with him. We understand.”

While this fan simply tweeted: “Once a blue always a blue.”

Hazard is not the only departure from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Maurizio Sarri also left for Juventus after the Italian club made him their top target to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

And club legend Frank Lampard has been hired to replace the former Napoli boss in a huge jump up from Derby, where he spent one season.

The Blues have also been hit with a transfer ban – meaning they cannot get anyone in to replace Hazard until next summer.

Chelsea play their second match under Lampard today in a pre-season friendly against St. Pat’s Athletic.

It comes after the former midfielder drew his first game in charge against Bohemians on Wednesday.
