EASTENDERS star Maisie Smith was delighted after her lookalike mum surprised her with Strictly-themed cakes to celebrate her bagging a spot on the show.
The actress’s mum had laid on some delicious looking glitterball cakes complete with special purple icing.
The star, 19, shared her excitement with her Instagram fans, she squealed: “Oh, they look amazing!”
Her mum replied: “Don’t they look lovely?”
The amazing cupcakes were beautifully decorated with icing spelling out the words Strictly Come Dancing Maisie.
Maisie’s cupcakes come ahead of her appearance on the dancing show next month.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Strictly’s male professionals are jostling to be partnered with the actress — as she is the favourite to win the show.
The competition has been heating up between the pros, who are self-isolating at a hotel in Elstree, Herts.
The cast, including Neil Jones, Aljaz Skorjanec and Giovanni Pernice, are said to be all lobbying the show’s producers in a bid to be paired with her.
Maisie, who plays Tiffany Butcher on the popular BBC1 soap, won the show’s Children in Need special alongside former Strictly star Kevin Clifton in 2019 — making her a hot tip to lift the glitterball trophy in this year’s series.
The pro dancers also appreciate she comes with a ready-made large fanbase owing to her EastEnders role.
Earlier this week, Italian Giovanni dropped a major hint on Twitter by liking a tweet Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley posted, saying she is desperate for him to soon be partnered with Maisie.
During lockdown, Maisie has been entertaining fans with her TikTok videos, which have also attracted thousands of views.
A source said: “All the male pros really want to partner with her, not just because she’s young and fit, but she’s also proven herself to be a brilliant dancer.
“She has a massive fan following, which often ensures contestants get far in the competition.”
The star has also revealed that she does have dance experience, saying she “could be the dark horse” in this year’s competition.
Speaking last month on This Morning, she said: “That was an absolute fluke” adding: “I’m not going to lie, I’ve got dancing experience.
“I’ve done a bit of hip-hop and street dance throughout my time but I have no technical ability at all.
“So yeah I feel like I was very lucky on that week. But who knows, I could be the dark horse.”
