Dr. Shola is enraged at Piers for allegedly exploiting the Queen to incite hatred against Meghan and Harry.
DR SHOLA Mos-Shogbamimu has slammed Piers Morgan for allegedly using the Queen to “stoke enmity” against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
As the former Good Morning Britain host celebrated being cleared by Ofcom over his statements about Meghan following her Oprah interview, the author and women’s rights campaigner reacted strongly. He was “entitled to declare he disbelieved the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s charges and to have and express strong views that vigorously disputed their story,” according to an Ofcom ruling issued yesterday. Dr. Mos-Shogbamimu, on the other hand, slammed Piers for using the verdict to smear Meghan for speaking out about her challenges with royal life and mental health while the Queen was grieving the death of Prince Philip.
“Piers Morgan’s hypocrisy knows no bounds,” she remarked on Twitter. Prince Phillip, 97, was dubbed the “rudest human creature ever met” by him.
“In 2019, the Demanded Queen gives him marching orders. But you’re all about his right to free speech, right?
“It’s disgraceful to use the Queen’s grief to create hostility towards Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.”
She then shared a post Piers authored for Mail Online in 2019, in which he stated, “It’s time the Queen handed her nasty, stubborn, insensitive, arrogant, and dangerous Duke of Hazard his driving marching orders.”
He made the remarks after Philip, who was 97 at the time, was involved in a car accident while driving in Sandringham.
“Amid all the controversy about Meghan Markle’s mental health, has anyone given a consideration for what the Queen has had to undergo this year as the Sussexes have repeatedly attacked her family and the monarchy as she lost and mourned her beloved husband of 73 years?” wrote Piers on Twitter yesterday. It’s a disgrace.”
Following his on-air statements that he did not believe Meghan when she said she felt “suicidal” being a royal, Piers departed his post on the ITV breakfast program, claiming he was instructed by ITV to either apologize or leave.
With over 50,000 people protesting about the show, which broadcast on March 8 this year, it became the most complained about moment in the watchdog’s history.
Meghan had also submitted an official complaint to ITV about Piers, it was later revealed.
Meghan claimed she was disregarded when she raised concerns during the explosive interview. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
