‘Do you want to be in the EU or not?’ Michel Barnier rages at Poland.

MICHEL BARRIER, the EU’s former chief Brexit negotiator, who is preparing to run for the French presidency against Emmanuel Macron, has issued a veiled threat to Poland, saying, “Do you want to be in the EU or not?”

However, a rival French lawmaker has called the former European Commissioner a “totalitarian” and a “enemy of freedom.” Mr. Barnier was speaking after Europhiles organized enormous protests following a contentious legal judgement by Poland’s constitutional court, which heightened tensions with Brussels.

The ruling, which ruled portions of EU law incompatible with Poland’s constitution, looks to have put the country on a collision path with Brussels.

“In Poland, it is not a question of law, it is a political question,” Mr Barnier said in an interview with French channel BFM TV. It’s a serious situation.

“The Polish people, as well as the current administration, are attempting to coerce and obstruct justice.” That is a severe matter.

“That is why they claim the European Treaties are incompatible with their constitution.” This is a pretty serious situation.” “This issue should be dealt with politically, and the European Council, the Council of Heads of State and Government, should ask the Polish people whether they want to stay in the EU or not,” Mr Barnier added. Mr Barnier reminded out that European law applied in France because it had been acknowledged through treaties.

“We made a commitment,” he remarked. Treaties must be followed.

“That’s what we do, and that’s what I’m going to do.”

“European law takes precedence over French law, but not over our constitution,” says the author.

“I think we should ask Poland if they want to be in the EU,” Mr Barnier said in a clear message to Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

“What’s more serious is that they joined the EU in 2004.

“They were well aware of what they were doing.”

“They agreed to the treaties,” says the narrator. This is a very terrible situation to be in right now.

“Behind the allure of the lovely guy, Barnier reflects the totalitarian vision of the European Union,” said Philippe Olivier, a member of the far-right National Rally party who is married to Marie-Caroline Le Pen, sister of Marine Le Pen, Mr Macron’s likely opponent next year.

“They are essentially the adversaries of the people’s freedom.”

Greetings, Monsieur Macron. “Brinkwire News Summary.”
