Demi Lovato has announced she is engaged to actor Max Ehrich.
Taking to Instagram to share the news on Wednesday evening, the actress and singer, 27, who has been dating Max, 28, since March, posted a series of stunning pictures with her beloved beau alongside a lengthy caption.
She penned: ‘When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense…
‘And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner. I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too..

And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!! ❤️ Ps. THANK YOU @angelokritikos FOR HIDING BEHIND ROCKS AND CAPTURING THE ENTIRE THING!!! I love you boo!!!

Demi then thanked her fans and followers in the comments section, as she penned: ‘To all of my friends and fans commenting – I F**KING LOVE YOU – THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY HAPPINESS’.
Shortly before her announcement, Demi and her husband-to-be were spotted at Nobu in Malibu sporting the same outfits as the engagement pictures.
The delighted couple – both in facemasks – appeared to be out to celebrate the happy news after dining at the swanky celebrity hotspot.
Demi looked incredible in a white mini dress with a loose-fitting top and a tight bottom, while she glammed up with a tiny jewelled bag.
The pair’s romance was first confirmed when Demi – who previously dated model Austin Wilson – accidentally crashed Max’s Instagram Live session.
And sources later revealed that they had decided to quarantine together at Demi’s house amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
An insider said in March: ‘Demi and Max have been seeing each other for a few weeks now. They have been quarantining together at Demi’s house and it’s going really well.
‘Max is very into music and health, and he doesn’t like to party. He is a good influence on Demi and they have a lot in common…
‘They have a few mutual friends in common, but Demi has been introducing Max to her closest friends via Facetime since being quarantined. It’s very new but they are definitely hanging out and seeing where it leads.’
Last month, Demi gushed she feels ‘unconditionally loved and accepted’ by Max.
In Max’s own announcement, he shared the same stunning images and penned a stunning caption reading: ‘Ahhhh. You are every love song, every film, every lyric, every poem, everything I could ever dream of and then some in a partner in life…
‘Words cannot express how infinitely in love with you I am forever and always and then some…
‘I cannot spend another second of my time here on Earth without the miracle of having you as my wife. here’s to forever baby…
‘ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I’m so excited. you are the most beautiful inside and out in the entire world & I couldn’t be more grateful God brought us together…
‘I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND WILL FOREVER CHERISH YOUR PURE, BEAUTIFUL, INFINITE SOUL’.
In May, Demi left fans tickled when she exposed Max as a former superfan.
The singer shared a December 2011 tweet on Instagram Stories penned by her now-fiancé, reading: ‘All I wanted for Christmas was Demi Lovato. #CantAlwaysGetWhatYouWant’.
She then branded the tweet ‘manifestation’ as he had eventually ‘got’ the star.
The engagement is undoubtedly an amazing turn in the star’s sometimes troubled life, after she has long-battled addiction and even suffered an overdose.
In her 2017 documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, she documented her battle with bipolar disorder and addiction. She also gave fans an insight into her woes with her single Sober.
In July 2018, Demi was hospitalised after suffering an overdose, which she later blamed on her eating disorder causing her to ‘turn to different things’.
Speaking to Ellen Degeneres in March, she said: ”My bulimia got really bad. I asked for help and I didn’t get the help that I needed. ‘I’m thinking to myself: ‘I am six years sober and I am miserable … why am I sober?’
She says she went to a party, started drinking and three months later ended up in hospital: ‘I lived a life for the past six years that I felt like wasn’t my own. My life, I just felt it was controlled by so many people around me.’
‘If I was in my hotel room at night they would take out my phone so I coudn’t call room service. If there was fruit in my room they took it out because it was extra sugar.’
She went on: ‘For many years I didn’t even have a birthday cake. This year when I turned 27, I have a new team and Scooter Braun, my manager, gave me the best birthday cake.’
Demi owned her journey and offered words of advice for others: ‘If you do go through this you yourself can get through it. It may be bumpy but as long as you take the responsibility, you can move past it and love yourself.’
