The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott are back at the negotiating table. According to multiple reports, the two sides are trying to come to terms on a multi-year contract.
Dallas used the franchise tag on Prescott to prevent him from becoming a free agent. The tag would pay him just under $27 million guaranteed for the 2020 NFL season. The Cowboys have until July 15 to reach a long-term deal with the quarterback.
Prescott and Dallas are reportedly discussing four and five-year contracts. The signal caller is likely looking to make close to $35 million per year.

#Cowboys have re-engaged with Dak agent France. The 4- vs. 5-yr is dead-on. @LizLoza_FF 's $35M is also a fit. Settle the first issue (Dallas 'caving'?) and we've got a deal. https://t.co/PKtAnWfjfp

Russell Wilson is the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback. He leads all players with a $35 million average yearly salary, signed to a four-year, $140 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
Ben Roethlisberger is second at $34 million per season. Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff both make $33.5 million a year.
Goff set a record last year when the Los Angeles Rams guaranteed $110 million of his $134 million contract. Wilson, Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan also own contracts with at least $100 million guaranteed.
Ryan Tannehill has signed the largest contract of any quarterback this offseason. The Tennessee Titans gave him a four-year contract worth $118 million and $90 million guaranteed.
The Cowboys signed Amari Cooper to a five-year $100 million contract shortly after he hit free agency. Cooper is the second-highest paid wide receiver, behind only Julio Jones and his $22 million average annual salary.
Ezekiel Elliott became the NFL’s highest-paid running back in September when he signed a six-year, $90 million deal with the Cowboys.
Prescott has started every game for Dallas since the team selected him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The 26-year-old has a career 97.0 passer rating with 97 touchdown passes and 36 interceptions. He has a 40-24 record, never finishing a season below .500.
Dallas missed the playoffs with an 8-8 record in 2019. Prescott was second in the NFL with 4,902 passing yards, leading the league’s No.1 ranked offense.
