Among total cases, 13,574 have recovered and there were 391 deaths reported in connection with the illness. The number of active cases rose to 5,436. https://onemocneni-aktualne.mzcr.cz/covid-19 CENTRAL BANK MINUTES: Minutes from last week’s policy meeting, where interest rates were kept flat, will be released at 9 a.m. (0700 GMT) INFLATION SURPRISINGLY ACCCELERATES:: Czech consumer prices rose by 0.4% on a monthly basis in July, putting the year-on-year inflation rate at 3.4%, statistics office data showed on Thursday. The year-on-year inflation rate picked up from a reading of 3.3% in June. Analysts in a Reuters poll had expected a 3.1% growth, along with a 0.2% month-on-month increase. CURRENT ACCOUNT SURPLUS SMALLER: The Czech current account showed a surplus of 1.8 billion crowns ($81.52 million) in June, smaller than expected, central bank data showed on Thursday. CEE MARKETS: Central European currencies made slight gains on Thursday in a cautious market ahead of weekend trade talks between the United States and China.
