Critics’ Choice Awards 2019 best dressed: Lady Gaga, Jodie Comer and Charlize Theron ooze glamour on the red carpet

The star-studded event saw numerous celebrities pull out all the stops

LADY Gaga, Charlize Theron and Jodie Cromer stole the show on Sunday night in Santa Monica for the 24th annual Critics’ Choice Awards.

The stars didn’t hold back with the red carpet glamour, pulling out all the stops for the elite event.

Lady Gaga, 32, who was a joint winner of the Best Actress award, for her role in A Star is Born, looked divine in a floor-length, cream Calvin Klein dress.

While she may be known for stepping outside the box when it comes to her fashion choices, the stunning star looked radiant in the simple, classic gown.

She wore her hair in Hollywood curls and kept her jewellery to a minimum by just wearing diamond studs by Djula.

The ceremony – which honours both the achievements of film and television in the past year -was held at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport.

Charlize Theron, 43, looked breathtaking in a grey, Givenchy dress with a one-shoulder strap.

The actress, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for Tully, kept her make-up simple, and wore moon-shaped earrings to complete her look.

Meanwhile, Killing Eve star Jodie Comer, 25, looked more angelic than her killer character in the BBC hit series, in a white Zuhair Murad gown.

Jodie was up for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the gripping show, which aired on BBC America as well as in the UK.

Emily Blunt, 35, who was up for Best Actress for her role in Mary Poppins Returns, once again nailed her awards ceremony look in a glitzy Prada dress and Christian Louboutin shoes.

And Poppy Delevingne, 32, looked every inch a princess in a plunging Grecian-style dress by Oscar de la Renta.

She wore her hair tied back and had natural-looking make-up, drawing attention to her spectacular topaz earrings by Kallati.

Nicole Kidman, 51, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Boy Erased, was the picture of elegance in a black and white, strapless Armani Prive dress.

Nicole lost the award to Regina King, 47, who was honoured for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk.

Regina looked every inch a queen in a vibrant, purple dress by Michael Kors Collection.

Also nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category was Claire Foy, for her work in First Man.

Claire, 34, who wore a glittery black jumpsuit, didn’t go home empty handed.

The Crown star was awarded the #SeeHer award for helping to eliminate bias against women.

Chrissy Teigen, 33, looked happy as she cuddled up to husband John Legend on the red carpet.

The model, who is mum to Luna and Miles, wore a silver Maison Yeya dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Jaipur Gems earrings and carried a Jimmy Choo clutch.

Kristen Bell, 38, opted to go bold on the fashionable carpet, and looked like a knockout in a blue Cushnie dress with a sheer panel on her chest.

American stand-up comedian Sarah Silverman, 48, turned heads in a black Jovani dress, which had a scooping neckline.

And British actress Jameela Jamil, 32, looked eye-catching in a black Oscar de La Renta gown with turquoise polka dots.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, 41, was the golden girl in a shimmery Prada dress with ruffled sleeves.

And Best Support Actress nominee Amy Adams, 44, was bold in blue, as she stunned in a Zac Posen dress.

Amy, who was recognised for her work in Vice, accessorised the gown with David Webb Jewellery, an Edie Parker clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Kaley Cuoco, 33, wore a black J. Mendel dress for the glam occasion.

Painting the town red was Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, who was one of the presenters at tonight’s glam event.

Nina, 30, wore a lacy Valentino dress, with Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch.

The pretty actress wore her hair in a chic up-do and kept her make-up natural-looking for the prestigious event.

Emmy Rossum, 32, went all out in a deep red dress by Ralph Lauren, that had a neckline that plunged to her waist.

Deadpool star Brianna Hildebrand, 22, opted for a cream dress which featured an eye-catching feathered skirt.

Elizabeth Olsen, 29, went for a short Alexandre Vauthier dress instead of a full gown, and she looked incredible.

Kiki Layne, 27, showed off her lean legs in a champagne-coloured Atelier Versace dress, which she paired with Casadei shoes and Dana Kemp and Effy jewellery.

Mandy Moore, 34, looked angelic in a white custom Michael Kors dress, with Emmanuel Tarpin jewellery.

Haley Lu, 23, stunned in a black Versace dress, black Giuseppe Zanotti strappy shoes and wore jewellery from Irene Neuwirth and D’Objets.

Debra Messing, 50, turned heads in a grey, sheer gown by Lucia Rodriguez, which she paired with Stuart Weitzman shoes.

And Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan, 36, added a splash of colour to the red carpet with a show-stopping pink Jason Wu dress, which had a floral design.

She accessorised with Jimmy Choo shoes, Anita Ko jewellery and carried a Tyler Ellis bag.

Actress and dancer Jeanine Mason, 27, decided to go bold with a yellow strapless Gustavo Cadile gown that stretched out with huge train behind her.

Rachel Bloom, 31, went for a less out-there colour, but still was a fashion hit.

She wore a nude-coloured J Mendel dress, Beladora jewellery, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes and carried a Tyler Ellis clutch.

TV writer Janet Mock, 25, who directed an episode of Pose, donned a silvery custom-made Roland Mouret dress for the event.

Patricia Clarkson, 59, looked effortlessly chic in a black sequined Georges Chakra Couture dress with long sleeves.

Previously at the Golden Globes, a Fiji water girl stole the limelight as she posed up a storm on the red carpet.

And it was all sequins and glamour at the high profile event, which took place earlier this month.

We also revealed the Golden Globes’ sexiest, most naked dresses EVER, including Jennifer Lopez’s see-through lace gown and Jennifer Aniston’s daringly low-cut black dress.
