‘Clearly, there is a right to freedom of expression.’ Susanna Reid makes a sneaky shot at Meghan while talking about Piers.

Following Ofcom’s judgement that her former co-anchor Piers Morgan did not breach editorial rules before his resignation in March, GMB host Susanna Reid made a veiled joke at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Susanna Reid appeared to make a subtle dig at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following the Ofcom judgment when speaking to Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain. The broadcasting watchdog deemed Piers to be in compliance with editorial guidelines, and Susanna observed that the duo frequently disagreed on the breakfast programme.

Piers stated he didn’t believe Meghan Markle after she claimed in a groundbreaking interview with Oprah Winfrey that she “didn’t want to be alive anymore” after marrying Prince Harry.

Piers went off set after being questioned by co-star Alex Beresford, subsequently announcing his departure from GMB.

Piers’ comment was investigated by Ofcom, but he was found not to have broken any editorial guidelines.

The watchdog also revealed that the Duke and Duchess of York had expressed their displeasure with his statements.

“We can confirm receipt of a standards complaint lodged on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex,” Ofcom said in March.

Susanna commented on the judgment, “Of course, part of the dynamic of the program was mirrored in that Ofcom statement, which is that there is obviously a right of freedom of speech.”

“And, of course, there’s the issue of challenge. That was always our motivation. Whatever anyone had to say. I mean, I was in an endless debate with him because I disagreed with 99.9% of what he stated.

“Are you in agreement or disagreement with what he said?”

“We disagree on a number of things,” Celia responded, “but it was fascinating the other day we were really having quite a spirited conversation with his mother.

“My nine-year-old daughter said, ‘Why was everyone yelling at each other?’

“No, dear, we were having a conversation,” I explained.

Celia said that her husband was “ecstatic” with the outcome of the Ofcom statement, which she described as “strongly worded and robust.”

In terms of the future, Celia revealed that Piers is planning a return to television.

She teased, “He’s got some irons in the fire.” “He isn’t going to be kicking about the home for long.”

With Piers no longer hosting GMB, Celia said that having her husband around the house more has been “difficult.”

“It’s.”Brinkwire Summary News” says the narrator.
