Chelsea star Eden Hazard once again fuels Real Madrid transfer talk – but there’s hope

CHELSEA superstar Eden Hazard has dismissed the possibility of a January move to Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old Blues forward recently spoke out about how he considers moving to Spain on daily basis.

Speaking at a media conference with Belgium today, Hazard was asked if he believe he needs to play in Spain to win the Ballon d’Or.

“That’s why I want to go, maybe,” said Hazard, who was smiling.

Asked if that move might happen in January, Hazard added: “No.”

Hazard has been in sparkling form this season and was questioned about persistent rumours linking him with Real after last Sunday’s 3-0 win at Southampton.

The ex-Lille star, whose Chelsea contract runs until June 2020, said: “Real Madrid is the best club in the world. It is my dream since I was a kid.

“Sometimes in my head, I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future.”

The Belgium playmaker is not short of confidence at present and when asked whether he is currently the world’s best player, he said “Yes.

“The team is helping me a lot also. I can improve for sure. We can always improve in football. We can score more goals, more assists.”

Meanwhile, pundit Stuart Pearce believes Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri can still convince Hazard to stay put.

Pearce told Sky Sports: “For me it’s down to the man management skills of Sarri now to make sure he is the happiest player there because if he walks out of Chelsea’s dressing room it blows Chelsea out of the water.

“He is the one player, the key player to Chelsea. If Manchester City come knocking, what would that do to Chelsea’s mentality, what would that do to Manchester City?

“We’re talking about him going to Real Madrid, but what if Manchester City or Liverpool came knocking and said they could pay him the money?”

Hazard netted Chelsea’s opener against Southampton before goals from Ross Barkley and Alvaro Morata secured the win.

The Blues return to action after the international break by hosting Manchester United on October 20.
