Chelsea news: Rivaldo GUARANTEES success for Eden Hazard at Real Madrid

CHELSEA superstar Eden Hazard would be a guaranteed success at Real Madrid, according to Brazil and Barcelona legend Rivaldo.

The World Cup winner is a big admirer of the Blues’ talented forward.

And Rivaldo believes Hazard would be destined for greatness at the Bernabeu given his progress in the Premier League already.

The Chelsea winger has talked up his desire to join the Madrid outfit with his contract running down.

The 27-year-old, who shone at the World Cup this summer, has just two years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

Talks over a new contract are still ongoing, but Hazard is open to joining Real.

Whether the Bernabeu outfit feel as strongly about signing the Belgium international, though, remains to be seen.

Hazard ruled out the possibility of him quitting Chelsea for Real in January.

However, he admits his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or are slim unless he heads for the Bernabeu.

“Real Madrid should be considering his signing”

Rivaldo, who won the Ballon d’Or in 1999 while at Barcelona, told Betfair: “The Belgian attacker is a great player and could be a very good option for his ‘dream club’ Real Madrid in the next transfer window.

“Hazard was excellent for Belgium at the World Cup and has started the new Premier League season very well.

“For that reason, Real Madrid should be considering his signing, especially given their recent poor form and Hazard’s stated desire to play at the Bernabeu.

“This kind of move could be good for the club and fans, as the arrival of a top player would give a much needed boost after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

“Hazard is very talented, scores goals and assists a lot – he’s a spectacular player who I particularly appreciate.

“In my opinion, Hazard could play even better at Real Madrid than in England as Spanish football gives a little more freedom to the players.

“So if he is already producing masterpieces in the Premier League, he could get even better in Spain.”

If Hazard does not put pen to paper on a new contract during the 2018/19 campaign, a summer departure to Real looks a possibility.
