Chelsea boss Frank Lampard makes transfer decision over EIGHT players

CHELSEA boss Frank Lampard has made decisions over the immediate futures of eight players this summer.

Chelsea confirmed Lampard as their new manager earlier this month to replace Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian left the Blues for Juventus and the former midfielder was the only man really in with a shout of getting the top job.

And the club legend has not wasted any time when it comes to transfer decisions – with eight players already marked out by the Englishman.

Chelsea are currently undergoing a transfer ban that rules them out of registering new players until next summer.

And the Blues are reluctant to lose more players for good after already letting the likes of Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Ola Aina go.

But a handful of young talents at the club will be allowed to strut their stuff for other sides.

Prominent Chelsea Twitter account @CareFreeYouth identified the eight players Lampard has allowed to leave on a loan basis.

They have been named as Marc Guehi, Trevoh Chalobah, Dujon Sterling, Conor Gallagher, Lewis Baker, Lucas Piazon, Izzy Brown and Ike Ugbo.

Of the eight, three started for the Blues in their recent 1-1 draw with Bohemians in a pre-season friendly.

The trio of Igbo, Guehi and Sterling all made the starting XI in Lampard’s first game in charge but they have now been sent back to England.

All six participated in the match against the Dublin-based outfit, who managed to score a late equaliser to deny the Chelsea boss a first win.

Chalobah, Sterling, Baker, Piazon, Brown and Ugbo all spent time away from Stamford Bridge last year with differing results.

Youngsters Chalobah, 20, and Sterling, 19, both impressed at Ipswich and Coventry respectively but Baker and Brown both struggled at Leeds.

Piazon is 25 but has never played for the Blues, spending the latter part of last season on loan to Chievo.

There are high hopes for Gallagher, who won Academy Player of the Year, while Ugbo failed to hit any sort of goalscoring form – netting just once at Scunthorpe last campaign.
