This is the shocking scene where Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, is accused of slapping the prime minister of Greece’s nephew after a heated altercation at an Athens basketball final.

During Sunday night’s Euroleague final, CCTV footage showed the Greek millionaire approaching Grigoris Dimitriadis. The football manager was later seen with bruises around his eye and a torn jersey.

Marinakis, wearing a white shirt, may be seen on camera descending the VIP steps before meeting Dimitriadis’s gaze and seemingly whispering something in his ear.

He seemed to slap Dimitriadis across the face a few seconds later, starting a fight in front of shocked onlookers at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Before security personnel and assistants hurried in to separate the two, Dimitriadis retaliated with a punch right away.

As security personnel battled to restore order, the two men persisted in yelling at one another from opposite sides of a barrier.

Kostas Karapapas, the vice president of Olympiacos FC, also seemed to be involved in the verbal altercation.

Marinakis, 58, was later photographed with a bruise close to his right eye, and the shipping tycoon’s shirt was partially torn during the altercation.

This is the shocking video of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis allegedly slapping the prime minister of Greece’s nephew during a heated altercation at an Athens basketball final.

During Sunday night’s Euroleague final, CCTV footage showed the Greek millionaire confronting Grigoris Dimitriadis. The football manager was later seen with a torn shirt and bruises close to his eye.

In the video, Marinakis is seen strolling down the VIP steps while wearing a white shirt. He then looks directly at Dimitriadis and seems to whisper something in his ear.

During the interaction, the Greek billionaire appeared furious and had a torn shirt.

According to local sources, a heated argument between opposing political and athletic groups during the high-profile game was the cause of the altercation.

One of Greece’s most contentious businesspeople, Marinakis has interests in sports, media, and shipping.

In addition to owning Alter Ego Media and founding Capital Maritime & Trading Corp, he is the owner of several football teams, notably Olympiacos in Greece and Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League.

However, he has frequently been involved in court battles and football scandals.

He was most notoriously accused of coercing referee Petros Konstantineas into fixing a match in 2012 and then firebombing his bakery when he refused.

According to the prosecution, Marinakis planned the operation and gave the order to explode Konstantineas’ bakery in order to intimidate and exact revenge on the recalcitrant referee.

He was found not guilty in 2021.

He was connected to a heroin smuggling case in 2018 but was eventually exonerated.

In 2022, after a phone spyware incident, Dimitriadis resigned as the prime minister’s advisor.
