CCTV footage captures a suspected big cat ‘walking like a lion’ many times.
In North Wales, a SUSPECTED large cat was sighted on CCTV.
A huge cat was spotted near Holywell, North Wales, in the latest of a series of sightings. Several times over the weekend, staff at the Green Pastures lodging that supports the Green Pastures spotted the critter on CCTV.
The cat was last spotted at the accomodation in Holywell at 2:08 a.m. on Friday, July 2.
Staff have noticed the cat-like creature on the system multiple times since then.
The creature has a cat-like shape and moves, but it’s hard to tell if it’s bigger than a conventional feline.
The creature appears to be grey or brown in the footage, rather than the jet black seen in previous recent reports.
Pauline Jones, the housing manager, told The Leader that she had seen the video on her laptop numerous times.
She is adamant that the creature, which she describes as “walking like a lion,” is too large to be a household cat.
“It’s quite tricky since the camera that it’s on has netting around it,” she told the site.
“I couldn’t figure out what it was at first, so I copied it from my phone to my laptop.
“I thought there was no way that was a cat; it had to be someone’s dog – yet look at its tail and the way it walks; it’s not a dog.
“When you watch him or her move, you’ll see that it has a different gait than a domestic cat; the way it lifts its paws is more like a dog, and they’re bigger and heavier.”
The alleged big cat sighting in Holywell is the latest in a series of sightings in North Wales.
In April, a lorry driver reported spotting a “huge cat” as he approached the M56 Eastbound highway near Chester.
At around 2 a.m. on April 5, the trucker, Dom, notified Puma Watch North Wales that he witnessed the wild beast crossing the slip road behind the Costco store near Ellesmere Port.
He saw a “speckled brown” cat the size of a fox with “extremely huge legs and paws and a long bushy tail,” he said.
Big cats have been spotted prowling around Ince Marshes, Whitby Park, and Chester, according to eyewitnesses.
Last December, an Uber Eats courier claimed to have seen a large cat that looked like a puma on Chester Meadows.
