‘Case closed!’ The BBC’s funding system is about to undergo major changes.

When the BBC’s licence fee is up for review, NADINE Dorries warned that “huge changes are coming.”

When the funding model is reassessed in 2027, the Culture Secretary says major reforms are likely due to technological changes.

“By then, we will be in a place where we will have a much clearer view,” she told MPs on the digital, culture, media, and sport committee.

“We’d be dinosaurs if we said it wasn’t going to change,” he said, adding, “We know there are huge changes coming.”

She expressed her opposition to the BBC’s decision to eliminate free TV licenses for over-75s, claiming that the broadcaster’s impartiality issue was “closed.”

She did not, however, threaten to cut the BBC’s funding after BBC journalist Nick Robinson told Prime Minister Boris Johnson to “stop talking” in an interview last month.

She claimed she was unaware of the conversation and that she had “never criticized” the broadcaster.
