BROOKLYN Beckham is “in talks” to appear on this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, with bosses scrambling to sign him following his engagement to Nicola Peltz.
BBC bosses are said to be keen to snap up the 21-year-old in a bid to “raise the profile” of the show through his famous parents – and attract a new US audience.
However, the aspiring photographer’s shy personality may prevent him from taking part – especially as he is a complete novice when it comes to dance.
An insider explained: “Brooklyn would be a dream signing for Strictly. He is being written about absolutely everywhere.
“He has a huge social media following and would raise the profile of the show, not just in the UK, but also in America where he has a lot of fans.
“But more than that, imagine having Brand Beckham behind him.”
The source added to MailOnline: “The issue, though, is that Brooklyn is a shy boy and, other than dancing at the odd party, he doesn’t have much experience.”
The Sun Online have contacted reps for Brooklyn and Strictly for comment.
Brooklyn may also be wary of taking part in the show due to its so-called Strictly Curse, with several stars splitting from their partners after taking part.
He announced his engagement to US actress Nicola last month after eight months together, popping the question after spending lockdown in the US with her billionaire parents.
Nicola has been warmly welcomed by Brooklyn’s famous parents, and they’d no doubt be reluctant to let their son risk his romance by joining Strictly.
Due to the harsh schedules, sexy dance moves and close quarters with their partners, the celebrity contestants’ off-screen romances sometimes suffer as a result.
Strictly became regarded as “cursed” after a series of very public break-ups from show participants – and ever since, more and more fan favourites have succumbed.
Over the course of 17 series of the BBC favourite, nearly a dozen couples have split up thanks to their time on the show – and many of the stars went on to shack up with their professional dance partner.
Stacey Dooley, Seann Walsh, Louise Redknapp, Ben Cohen, Rachel Riley, and Georgia May Foote are among the names to have fallen victim to the Strictly Curse so far.
