MOSCOW, Aug 11 – Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanouskaya on Tuesday urged her fellow citizens not to oppose the police and to avoid putting their lives in danger, the RIA news agency said.

Tikhanouskaya said earlier on Tuesday that she had fled to neighboring Lithuania for the sake of her children, after two nights of street clashes following the contested re-election of strongman president Alexander Lukashenko.
