Aussie Home Loans king John Symond has sold off his sprawling super yacht ‘Hasna’ after more than a year on the market.
Symond, 72, who made his fortune selling home loans, initially put the yacht on the market for $160 million a year ago – but has taken a $10 million haircut on the price, selling the 73-metre vessel for about $150 million.
‘Hasna’ features a 10-seat cinema, hairdressing salon, lift, wellness centre, eight-metre infinity pool and a jacuzzi to keep even the most spoilt billionaire entertained. The super yacht Hasna can sleep 12 guests and carry up to 21 crew and staff to take care of their every need and want.
Symond had planned to buy a bigger yacht but the it’s understood the coronavirus pandemic has put the plan on hold.
A spokesperson for the finance giant, who has an estimated worth of $638 million, confirmed the sale to the Wentworth Courier on Monday but wouldn’t reveal the exact price.
Symond bought the yacht for $104million in 2017 as a 70th birthday present to himself, holding a three-day, $7 million party on board. He had previous planned to take the boat to Europe with his wife, Amber, who he he wed in 2016.
The yacht has now been renamed Lunsea and will be available to charter from Y.CO.
