Ashley Banjo wishes ‘boss man’ Simon Cowell a speedy recovery and says ‘I got you’ as he steps in for him on BGT

ASHLEY Banjo has wished Simon Cowell get well soon wishes after stepping in to replace him on Britain’s Got Talent.

Ashley, 31, took to Instagram over the weekend to share an adorable snap of himself and his baby son Micah sat on the panel.

As the Diversity star clutches his five-month-old boy with one hand and places the other on his red buzzer, he clearly cannot believe the position he’s in.

Ashley captioned the post: “Funny what can change in a year – Let alone in a lifetime…

“@simoncowell get well soon boss man, I’ve got you until then 🙏🏽 From contestant to judge… The journey continues 🙌🏽 #bgt #wearediversity.”

Ashley has stepped in to replace Simon, 60, temporarily after the music mogul broke his back earlier this month in California.

Simon was seen for the first time over the weekend since having emergency spinal surgery.

He was spotted heading to a hospital in Los Angeles for a check up and appeared to be in “good spirits”.

According to reports, Simon is “keen” to return to work and wants to fly to London in October for the live final of Britain’s Got Talent.

But for now, dancer Ashley will keep his seat warm and his friends and fans couldn’t wait to congratulate him on his new role.

Adam Thomas wrote: “Haha Madness gooo on lad,” while his brother Scott Thomas added: “Come on brooooooo ❤️👏👏👏👏👏.”

Gaby Roslin commented: “Such fabulous news my lovely ❤️😘,” while John Barrowman posted several thumbs up emojis.

Ashley first found fame when his dance troupe, Diversity, won Britain’s Got Talent back in 2009.

Since then, Ashley has gone on to be a judge on Sky1’s dancing talent show Got to Dance for all five series, as well as ITV series Dance Dance Dance, and more recently he has sat on the Dancing on Ice panel.
