As the royals head to Balmoral, the Queen is ‘itching to get back to normal’ and fires up the grill.
In the Firm’s first family trip to Balmoral since Covid rocked Britain, the Queen is said to be “itching to get back to normal.”
At Her Majesty’s Scottish retreat, Queen Elizabeth, 95, will soon host a family gathering.
The Queen will be joined by other members of the Royal Family at Balmoral Castle.
“The Queen just wants to crack on,” a source north of the border told The Sun. “She is yearning to get back to normal like everyone else,” they said.
Scotland’s last coronavirus restrictions were lifted today.
The party is expected to be led by Prince Edward and Prince Andrew.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to attend the event later this month.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will accompany them.
Zara Tindall, Prince William’s cousin, is also set to travel with her ex-England rugby international spouse Mike.
The Royal Family’s visit to Balmoral will be the first since the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.
At the age of 99, Prince Philip died in April.
During their family gatherings, the Queen’s late husband was known as the “Master of the BBQ.”
“The family barbecues are back on the menu even without Philip present for the first time,” a Balmoral source told The Sun. Prince Philip’s absence has also allowed Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to make a longer journey to Balmoral.
Fergie has visited the Scottish castle in recent years, but due to her tumultuous relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh, her stay was cut short.
The Duke and Duchess of York, who are divorced, will travel 500 miles from their Windsor castle to Balmoral.
