As part of a huge investigation into child sexual abuse in Bradford, 19 males have been detained.
As part of an investigation into child sexual abuse in the area, BRADFORD police have detained 19 individuals.
According to West Yorkshire Police, the investigation is linked to crimes perpetrated against one girl in the Bradford district between 2000 and 2005.
The 19 guys, who range in age from 36 to 55, were all apprehended in Bradford during the last month.
They were questioned and released on police bail pending further investigation, according to the police.
“We would urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse, whether recent or history, to disclose it to the police,” said Det Ch Insp Alan Weekes of Bradford District Police.
“Please know that you will be heard, taken seriously, and supported by specialists who have dealt with similar offenses before.”
“This investigation is part of West Yorkshire Police’s ongoing commitment to investigating both recent and non-recent sexual offences against children,” Mr Weekes said.
“Tackling child abuse and safeguarding children is not something that can be done by one agency alone, which is why we collaborate with local governments, other organizations, and charities to support victims, prosecute perpetrators, and make our communities safer.”
