Antichrist the deceiver will arrive as a “charismatic world leader,” according to Bible prophecy.

The Antichrist will make a big entrance onto the political arena, according to Bible prophecy, with many Christians believing the great deceiver will appear as a “charismatic international leader.”

The appearance of the Antichrist is one of the events that the Bible predicts will occur prior to Jesus Christ’s Second Coming. In the End Days, according to biblical prophecy, the globe will be torn apart by war, illness, and unrest. The New Testament, particularly the Epistle to the Thessalonians, contains prophecies about the enigmatic character of the Antichrist.

“He will oppose and exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshipped,” says one text in 2 Thessalonians, “so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.”

In the context of the passage, the temple refers to Jerusalem’s Third Temple.

The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD, and the house of worship no longer exists.

However, many Christian preachers and conspiracy theorists think that the Temple will return to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount in a matter of time, and that when it does, a series of prophetic occurrences will follow.

According to the Christian conspiracy theory blog Bible Prophecy – Signposts of the Times, when this happens, the Antichrist will appear before Israel as a sort of messianic figure.

“It is quite evident that the Jews today are ready, willing, and desirable of accepting a future charismatic world leader coming onto the world stage, who will appear to them as being the one they have long awaited – their Messiah,” wrote the blog’s authors, Duane and Shelley Muir of Williams Lake, Canada.

“However, that coming figure of sin is known to be the Antichrist or False Messiah.

“It will only become clear to the Jews that this man is a phony when he claims to be God and demands that everyone worship him as such.

“At that point, the Jews will realize that this imposter cannot be their long-awaited Messiah since they still do not believe that God and the Messiah are one.”

“Brinkwire Summary News” claims that this “turning point” will occur near the end of the Great Tribulation, a seven-year period.
