Angela Rayner throws down the gauntlet to Boris in a ferocious attack.

‘Publish these letters right now!’ Angela Rayner attacks Boris with a gauntlet.

ANGELA RAYNER has fired shots at Boris Johnson after he was cleared of violating the Ministerial Code and demanded the publication of letters to the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister was chastised by an official inquiry into the refurbishment of his Downing Street flat on Thursday, but he was found not to have broken any ministerial rules.

Following the publication of the reports, the Labour Party’s Deputy Leader slammed the Prime Minister.

Ms Rayner mocked reports that Mr Johnson changed his phone number and thus did not reveal messages about the Downing Street flat refurbishment.

“Ah the old ‘changed phone’ trick! An oldie but a goodie,” she wrote on Twitter.

“The PM is learning how to hide your shady WhatsApps from his ministers.”

“Make these letters public right now so we can all see how he justifies asking a Tory donor to pay for his flat’s renovations and then lying about it.”

Ms Rayner posted pictures of text messages between Mr Johnson and Lord Brownslow about the Number 11 refurbishment, which were missing from the original inquiry into the flat, in yet another attack on the Prime Minister.

Parts of the Prime Minister’s flat “are still a bit of a tip,” according to texts dated November 29, to which Lord Brownlow responded that he and Soane Britain designer Lulu Lytle would “get it sorted ASAP.”

“I should have said, because their Trust isn’t set up yet (it will be in January), approval is a doddle because it’s only me and I know where the £ will come from, so as soon as Lulu calls, we can crack on,” the Conservative peer added.

“A man who hasn’t yet discovered a comb telling us his grace and favour flat was ‘a tip’ seems a bit rich,” Ms Rayner said.

Ms Rayner responded to the missing texts with another tweet, saying that the Prime Minister “has little regard for the rules or the truth.”

“Ministers must act in a transparent and honest manner, according to the Ministerial Code,” she said.

“It is simply impossible to conclude from these exchanges that the Prime Minister has not broken these provisions of the Code.”

Boris Johnson undermines his own office once again by attempting to conceal the truth.

“No one will be fooled by the Prime Minister’s pathetic excuses, and this is just the latest in a long line of embarrassing episodes.”

This is the case.
