All night, boy racers with exhaust that sounds like gunfire terrorize the estate.
Antisocial behavior by boy racers with exhausts that sound like gunfire is terrorizing elderly residents on an estate.
Residents in the Northfield area of Hull claim that their streets are being exploited as race tracks by boy racers in modified automobiles. The teenage drivers also utilize an insecure car park late at night to show off their vehicles, according to the mostly elderly population.
“They’re racing up and down the road there at all hours of the night in modified cars, and when their exhausts are blowing, it sounds like gunfire,” a local told Hull Live.
“My mother is 80 and lives around the corner; she doesn’t always grasp what’s going on and it’s terrible for her.
“There are a lot of older people on this estate, and it is typically quiet, so it isn’t fair that they should have to put up with this noise in their senior years.
“It frightens me when you’re relaxing in the evening and suddenly it sounds like there’s a gunfight going on outside; it’s not pleasant.
“The worst is late at night when they’re doing doughnuts in their cars on the industrial estate and having a meet-up with a bunch of them all there together. With all of the noise, it’s difficult for me to sleep.
“I know we aren’t the only neighborhood dealing with this type of behavior, and I believe that a lot more needs to be done to assist people since it isn’t healthy for us to be constantly on edge.”

Councillors say they are keeping an eye on the situation and are cooperating with Humberside Police.
The housing is located in west Hull’s Pickering ward, which is represented by two Lib Dem councillors, one of whom, Mark Leronimo, said: “As soon as homeowners noticed these nuisance motorcycles in our area, we spoke with our local police team and immediately reported it to the council.” We’re trying to come up with a solution with both of them.
“The people of Summergroves deserve better than this disruption, and the local Lib Dem team is working hard to ensure that this issue is fixed as soon as possible.
