Aldi set to launch $40 smartwatch that rivals brands costing hundreds more

Aldi Australia is set to sell a remarkably affordable $39.99 smartwatch that will rival big tech brands such as Apple and Fitbit.

The device can track your steps, activity, heart rate, sleep and blood pressure in real time similar to gadgets that will often set you back hundreds of dollars.

Shoppers can check the weather forecast, as well as receive message and call notifications from their smartphones.

The budget product will hit shelves on Wednesday, August 26 as part of the retailer’s Special Buys catalogue ahead of Father’s Day.

The watch includes many of the features you would expect with regular trackers, including multi-sports tracking, and a Bluetooth wireless connection.

If you’re into swimming, you’ll be happy to hear that the watch is water-resistant and designed to endure through your favourite activities.

Users can also connect to their smartphones through Bluetooth, and skip, play, pause and rewind music, directly from your wrist.
