After discussing his affair controversy with Dianna Russini, Dave Portnoy acknowledged that he was “afraid” to approach Mike Vrabel during a recent celebrity softball game.

Since Page Six released pictures of Russini and Vrabel at an adult-only resort in Arizona more than a month ago, the alleged affair between the two has been the biggest topic in the NFL.

Since then, further pictures have been made public as the controversy keeps changing every week. After the organization began looking into her behavior, Russini eventually resigned from The Athletic.

Portnoy was one of the people who commented on the story at the time, and he recently disclosed that he thought he shouldn’t speak to the troubled Patriots coach as a result.

When asked if he had a conversation with Vrabel during the weekend’s Drake Maye Celebrity Softball Game, Portnoy replied on Barstool’s YouTube channel, “No, I did not.” I was scared to approach him.

The head of Barstool Sports clarified, “I do have a relationship with him in the past [but] I have no idea what he’s seen, what I’ve said.”

After discussing his affair controversy with Dianna Russini, Dave Portnoy acknowledged that he was “afraid” to approach Mike Vrabel during a recent celebrity softball game.

Vrabel and Russini have been acquainted since his time with the Titans and hers at ESPN.

Additionally, Portnoy revealed Vrabel’s reception at the occasion. It was like being in a locker room, really. He received a huge standing ovation and was completely normal.

When asked again if he had spoken to Vrabel, Portnoy replied, “I saw him.” He appeared to be in a good mood. regular communication with every player.

In response to the turmoil, Vrabel spoke to the public on May 27 for the first time since leaving the team for family counseling, declaring his love for his wife Jen and their two grown kids.

When questioned about his work-life balance, which he has been discussing amid the current Dianna Russini issue, Vrabel responded, “I appreciate my family, I love Jen, I love the boys [Tyler and Carter], I love my personal friends.”

“We all have to deal with things outside of here… My focus, and obviously the excitement that I have for coaching, is what is most important right now, and this is a great opportunity,” he said in response to a question about his efforts to reduce distractions from the scandal.

Since the recent NFL Draft, when he officially addressed suspicions of an affair with Russini without outright admitting to adultery, the 50-year-old had not briefed reporters. Later, on Day 3 of the draft, Vrabel left the Patriots to attend that family counseling session.

When asked if he could possibly take another leave of absence to deal with his family issues, Vrabel sidestepped the subject by stating that he is just concerned with “today.”

Before going to the Patriots’ organized team activities (OTAs) in Foxborough, Vrabel declared, “I’m going to be out there in full force.”

Before planned team workouts on Wednesday, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel spoke to the media and expressed his love for his wife Jen and their two grown boys.

Vrabel and Jen have been wed for more than 20 years, and they have two kids together.

When the New York Post released suggestive images of Vrabel hanging out with Russini at an adult-only resort in Arizona that cost $2,500 per night, the scandal broke out in March.

The married Russini was put on leave at The Athletic before finally submitting her resignation to the website’s parent business, The New York Times, despite denying any misconduct and defending her reporting on Vrabel.

The Post released images in April that allegedly showed Vrabel and Russini sharing a kiss at a Manhattan bar in March 2020. In September of that year, Russini wed Kevin Goldschmidt, an executive at Shake Shack, and has since given birth to two kids.

Photos of Vrabel and a pregnant Russini renting a boat on a lake in Tennessee in 2021, when he was coaching the Titans and she was covering the team for ESPN, have also been revealed by The Daily Mail.
