After Kate and William’s wedding, Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend ‘decided to go.’
According to a royal specialist, Prince Harry’s former girlfriend decided to break up with him after Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex’s wife and mother of his children, married him three years ago.
Prior to meeting her, he had a seven-year relationship with Zimbabwean businesswoman Chelsy Davy.
Harry has known his ex-girlfriend since elementary school, but she ended their relationship when she realized the royal life was not for her, according to one royal specialist.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 2011 wedding may have put things in perspective for Harry’s erstwhile love interest, according to royal expert Robert Lacey.
“In 2011, after more comings and goings, she finally decided to go – and it was, strangely, Kate and William’s huge and spectacular wedding that spring that did it for her,” he said in his book Battle of Brothers.
“A friend informed Harry that she could never make the scarifies she had seen Kate make, especially when it came to molding her life around the unrelenting attention of the press,” according to a source.
Harry met model Cressida Bonas in 2012 after their breakup and dated her on and off until 2014.
Mr Lacey claims that Kate and William’s royal lifestyle convinced her that she, too, did not desire the royal obligations.
Ms Bonas was allegedly “spooked” by the royal couple’s royal tour of Australia, according to Mr Lacey.
“As a budding actress, Cressida did not appreciate the harsh remarks she could hear behind her back as she walked down the street in London; she felt that her relationship’s celebrity had put her in a box,” he continues.
