After death, a man recalls a traumatic accident that left him in a state of “comforting darkness.”
Researchers from LIFE AFTER DEATH have presented the extraordinary story of a man who lost consciousness as a toddler after being choked – an incident he claims left him in a world of complete darkness.
What happens to humans when we die is still up for debate, with narratives ranging across cultures and religions. The majority of scientists think that life does not continue after death. People who have had so-called near-death experiences (NDEs) disagree, claiming that death isn’t the end of the world.
Candy, a man who claims to have died briefly as a freshman in high school, is one of these people.
Candy told the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) about how he was choked by a student by accident.
“One day, while our study hall monitor was out, this senior lifted me up from behind, one arm across my upper shoulders,” he explained.
“With what I imagined was a big smile and chuckle, he whirled me around. It was a big hit with the students.
“What they didn’t realize was that his arm had slid around my neck.”
Candy drifted out of awareness – and life – as the grasp on his throat cut off the oxygen supply to his brain.
He described being engulfed in darkness till it all vanished and there was nothing but silence.
“Even though the lights went out, my consciousness was incredibly alert,” Candy explained.
“I couldn’t hear anyone or anything in the classroom anymore, but I knew I could hear.”
“All I saw was darkness, yet I didn’t feel blind.
“I was aware that I was aware of the darkness. It felt silky, supple, and reassuring.”
Candy estimates that he was in this condition of darkness for around five minutes before the outer world began to worry about his safety.
“I became aware of the senior in a frenzy trying to revive me,” he explained.
Fortunately for him, he regained consciousness and was soon back on his feet.
Candy is certain that the afterlife exists as a result of the incident.
“Yes, I realized I was continuing to exist apart from my body,” he told NDERF.
Scientists, on the other hand, are wary about taking the horrifying story at face value.
Although many NDE survivors have comparable experiences of seeing lights or hearing voices, they are not always evidence. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
