A guy has been prosecuted by police for a violent altercation at a Sydney under-17 soccer match that resulted in the hospitalization of an 18-year-old who had been bitten on the back.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the altercation in Amour Park on Iluka Street in Revesby.
Up to forty persons were involved in the altercation, and police were informed that after players started fighting, fans entered the field.
An 18-year-old guy was treated by paramedics for a bite wound on his back before being transported to Liverpool Hospital for more care.
Police detained a 47-year-old man from Greenacre in southwest Sydney on Sunday and charged him with affray and assault causing bodily harm.
After being granted conditional bail, the guy is scheduled to appear at Bankstown Local Court on June 25.

Police investigations are still ongoing. “NSW Ambulance paramedics treated an 18-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he received further treatment for injuries including a bite to his back,” NSW Police said in a statement. “Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were informed that a number of spectators had entered the field of play after a fight broke out between players.” No additional arrests have been made.
