On May 20, Lieutenant Colonel Jonny Thompson, King Charles’s “hot equerry,” and his wife Olivia Lewis welcomed a daughter.

One year after Thompson, 42, and PR executive Olivia, 35, got married, the pair announced the birth of their first child together, Theodora, in The Times on May 27. In Greek, the name means “gift from God.”

Additionally, Thompson and his former spouse, marketing manager Caroline, have a son. After 12 years of dating, the couple broke up in 2022.

Following Queen Elizabeth’s passing, the King’s handsome assistant initially gained notoriety in 2022 for his attendance at royal functions. Videos of him went viral, earning him the nickname “the hot equerry.”

He was elevated to senior equerry in 2024, a “less public-facing role” in which he assumes the vital duty of overseeing the King’s personal matters.

The attractive soldier has been in a committed relationship with Olivia since 2023, despite his army of female admirers. The couple exchanged vows at St. Mary’s Church in Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, late last May.

Olivia met Thompson while she was employed by Charles and Camilla, according to The Mail on Sunday.

Simon Lewis OBE, her father, was as Queen Elizabeth’s communications secretary.

Olivia, a PR executive, and the attractive soldier have been in a serious relationship since 2023; they exchanged vows in May of last year.

After attending the Coronation and other high-profile events, Thompson ignited social media and earned the nicknames “Major Eye Candy” and “Hot Equerry.”

When Thompson accompanied King Charles and Queen Camilla on their state visit to the United States last month, he was thrust back into the spotlight.

On April 28, he was seen at the couple’s formal greeting at the White House in Washington, DC.

As he strolled among those waiting for the royal couple to arrive in Washington, Thompson sported a kilt.

Lieutenant Colonel Thompson was spotted grinning while mingling on the White House lawn prior to US President Donald Trump and his spouse Melania Trump taking the stage with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

On the first day of the state visit, he was also photographed enjoying an extravagant garden party at the British Embassy. On April 29, Thompson met Martha Stewart at the star-studded King’s Trust Global Gala in New York City.

The 84-year-old entrepreneur said that the “extremely handsome” Thompson had “totally charmed” her.

“Can’t believe I got this close to the “hot Equerry,” Martha wrote on Instagram.

In fact, we had a brief conversation while we waited for King Charles to arrive. Completely endearing, incredibly cool, and very attractive.

Several of Ms. Stewart’s fans praised the “hunky” equerry in the comments section of her article, with one saying, “He seems like he’d be so nice and very cool!”

Another said, “I agree he is!” while a jealous commenter remarked, “You met Johnny!!! You’re very fortunate!

When Thompson accompanied King Charles and Queen Camilla on their state visit to the United States last month, he was thrust back into the spotlight. Thompson is seen here in a kilt behind the King and Christian Turner, the British ambassador to the United States.

Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson, Charles’s “hot Equerry,” was last seen in New York City at the King’s Trust Global Gala.

Following Queen Elizabeth’s passing, the King’s handsome assistant initially gained notoriety in 2022 for his attendance at royal functions. Videos of him went viral, earning him the nickname “the hot equerry.”

When Thompson was seen at the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II, royal observers praised his brooding good looks, which is how he initially gained popularity.

In one video of the “hunky” equerry taken over the weekend of the King’s coronation in 2023, Thompson was shown welcoming crowds who had gathered close to Buckingham Palace.

As an equerry, Thompson’s responsibilities include helping the King with his everyday tasks, supporting him at public gatherings, and maintaining the monarch’s Rolls-Royces, coaches, and carriages used for official occasions.

It may come as no surprise that he placed third on Tatler’s Social Power Index in 2023 given that he was once the Queen’s most senior bodyguard, now serves His Majesty, and was spotted standing proudly beside King Charles during the Coronation.

According to the journal, the handsome equerry has established himself as one of the prominent figures in the UK, ranking just after King Charles III and Queen Camilla (at number one) and millionaire businessman Sanjay and his fashion designer wife Anu Hinduja (at number two).

Tatler claims that Johnny can look just as good in a suit as he does in a kilt and has a “fabulous sense of humour.”

Following the Queen’s death, the officer was thrust front and center during important royal ceremonies, earning him the affection of royal observers.

As Charles signed the proclamation designating him as king, he was shown on video coolly and collectedly clearing a pen tray that had piled up on the King’s desk.

Thompson was also there during the procession that took the Queen’s coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, where it lay in state for four days.

In October 2022, he escorted then-prime minister Liz Truss to visit the King at Buckingham Palace and greeted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky while he was in the UK.

At the Platinum Jubilee commemoration National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, he was also seen standing behind Harry and Meghan.
