After a restaurant incident in Majorca, a British man is fighting for his life.
After being stabbed in a restaurant in Majorca while on holiday with his fiancée, a British tourist is fighting for his life.
After suffering severe stab wounds, Lloyd Wood, 44, is still in intensive condition in a Majorca hospital. According to a source, his wounds were so severe that they didn’t expect he’d make it through the night. Mr Wood and his fiancée Janine Parr, 41, both from Mirfield, West Yorkshire, were on vacation to celebrate their recent engagement.
Last Wednesday, the couple is said to have dined at the Don Denis restaurant in Can Picafort.
Mr Wood is said to have fought with a server over a steak they had ordered, according to The Sun.
According to one eyewitness, there was “a lot of blood” on the ground.
“There was a lot of blood, and you could see all the rags they had used to wipe it up,” an eyewitness stated.
Family members have flown to Majorca to be by his side, but because to Covid restrictions, they have been unable to visit him.
The incident is being investigated by Spanish authorities as of September 1.
Due to his condition, officers have been unable to interrogate Mr Wood.
Added a source Mr Wood has been in intensive care since last week in a serious but stable state.
“They didn’t think he’d make it through the night at one point,” they claimed.
“In the intensive care unit, he is still in a critical condition.”
The restaurant’s manager, Jaime Soberats, stated that the workforce is shocked.
He further verified that the fight began because Mr Wood was dissatisfied with a steak his partner had ordered.
“I’ve been told the visitor went berserk because he wasn’t delighted with the rib steak his partner had ordered,” Mr Soberats claimed.
“The tourist was the one who suffered the most injuries, and there was a lot of blood.
“This is the first time something like this has ever happened here.
“Everyone is in a state of shock.”
