According to recent research, VAUXHALL owners are the most likely to be involved in road accidents and car crashes.

When specialists looked at the statistics, the well-known British brand topped the list of manufacturing accidents. In the meantime, three of the brand’s most popular automobiles were among the top five vehicles in the UK with the highest accident rates.

According to Department for Transport data analyzed by Rivervale Leasing, Vauxhall vehicles were involved in 107,275 crashes between 2015 and 2019.

With nearly three million automobiles on the road in the UK, Vauxhall has a 335 per 10,000 model accident rate.

With 12,076 crashes for its 236,269 cars registered in the UK, Vauxhall’s Zafira model topped the list of damaged cars.

This means the car has a 511-per-10,000-vehicle accident rate.

The popular Vauxhall Astra came in second with 30,764 crashes out of nearly 850,000 units sold.

The model’s accident rate, according to Rivervale, is 363 crashes per 100,000 vehicles.

With 33,264 crashes reported over four years, Vauxhall’s Corsa model was the fourth most affected.

Customers bought more Corsas than any other Vauxhall model, with over one million in circulation.

As a result, Rivervale has calculated an average of 314 collisions per 10,000 vehicles.

With 24,545 crashes for its 1 million cars registered in the UK, Renault was the second most affected manufacturer.

This means they had 334 crashes per 10,000 vehicles on average.

The popular Clio was the model most damaged by the French manufacturer.

The car was involved in 13,971 crashes across its 416,823 models, resulting in an accident rate of 335 per 10,000 units.

Popular vehicles including the BMW 3 Series and the Ford Focus have also been identified as likely to be involved in collisions.

The BMW 3 Series had 297 accidents per 10,000 vehicles, whereas the Ford Focus had 273 accidents per 10,000 vehicles.

According to Ford, their vehicles include a “growing number” of driver assist features that detect the potential of an accident.

They said that doing so would reduce the chances of an accident and car damage.

Bud Johnson, Rivervale Leasing’s Marketing Manager, advised drivers to “prevent an accident” by adopting basic precautions.

“Ultimately, any driver’s safety should be their main priority, so you should take precautions to avoid an accident in the first place,” he stated.
