According to stunning court documents, a high-ranking construction executive believes his wife poisoned him and even attempted to hire a bikie to harm him.
The multi-millionaire developer’s boss, Mario Evangelo, has made shocking claims to police, saying he was left battling for his life after contracting mysterious ailments after eating meals prepared by his ex-wife, Janelle.
According to court records, the well-known businessman was taken to the hospital and underwent two resuscitations while medical professionals hurried to determine the cause of his condition due to concerns that he had been poisoned, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Police are requesting an apprehended violence order against Ms. Evangelo as a result of the allegations.
Ms. Evangelo is anticipated to refute the accusations made in the AVO application and has not been charged with any crimes.
Documents submitted to the Downing Center Local Court stated that Mr. Evangelo frequently felt “unwell for extended periods” following meals cooked by the 60-year-old.
Additionally, he said that his wife would serve him different food than the rest of the family and cautioned him against sharing it with their kids.
Mr. Evangelo said that in February 2023, after exhibiting symptoms of jaundice, his situation took a scary turn and he was admitted to the hospital by his general practitioner.
After consuming food prepared by his estranged wife Janelle (shown left), Mario Evangelo (pictured right) says he was left battling for his life.
Janelle Evangelo still resides in the couple’s opulent $9.5 million apartment in Sydney’s Crown Towers, despite their current separation.
According to police records, the CEO stopped breathing and needed to be revived by St George Hospital staff while medical professionals performed critical liver tests.
Later, he informed authorities that anytime he was away from home on vacation or business travels, he would inexplicably “begin to feel better.”
The argument follows a turbulent, on-again, off-again romance that dates back to the 1990s and included two marriages and divorces.
Ms. Evangelo still resides in the couple’s opulent $9.5 million Crown Towers condominium, but they no longer live together.
Claims that Ms. Evangelo tried to hire a bikie to hurt her estranged husband are also included in court filings; however, these claims have not been investigated.
“Are you able to find someone to harm Mario?” Any price will do for me. Police claim that Ms. Evangelo told the third party, “I don’t have any other choice. Isn’t the Forrest Inn Hotel a hangout for the bikies?”
A police prosecutor requested extra time in court last week, informing Judge Susan Horan that officers were getting ready to file charges related to the allegations.
On July 22, the case is scheduled to return to court.
