A woman’s body was discovered on the A3 in Guildford, prompting police to form a major crime squad.

A woman’s body was discovered in Guilford, prompting police to open a murder inquiry.

A member of the public discovered the body on Monday.

Around 3 p.m., it was discovered near the A320 Woking Lane intersection on the A3 slip road out of Guilford.

The woman’s body was located in the bushes and is thought to be in her forties.

The inquiry is being led by the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team.

The woman’s identity is being sought, and her family has been notified.

On Tuesday evening, police apprehended two males in connection with the incident, and they are still in prison.

Officers are still on the site investigating, and the A3 northbound slip lane is closed until further notice.

Before being carried to the A3 slip way, police believe the woman died somewhere else.

“We are investigating this as a murder that we believe was done somewhere with the victim’s body placed in this location,” Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers, the case’s senior investigating officer, said.

“We’re still attempting to figure out how long the body had been there, and as part of our investigation, we’re collaborating with forensic experts.

“As soon as we are in a position to do so, we will provide additional updates.

“While our investigation is still ongoing, we want to reassure area residents that a dedicated team of police is working around the clock to figure out precisely what happened, and we will share further information as soon as we are able.”

With a cordon in place, the A3 northbound slip way is expected to stay closed for at least another day.

“We respectfully ask that motorists avoid using this route for the time being, and that members of the public respect the cordons in place,” Surrey Police said.

On Tuesday, SussexLive reporter Emma Pengelly was on the scene.

“At the Stoke Road intersection, driving towards Woking, the cones start to close off the lane that connects to the slip road,” she explained.

“Police tape closes the slip lane at the Stoke Mill roundabout, which is highly crowded with traffic as cars look at the incident.

“Another police cordon has been set up farther up the slip road.”

“One marked police car is parked at the cordon, and three other vehicles with danger markings are also in.”Brinkwire Summary News,” the reporter stated.
