In a statement, officials added, “This seems to be a senseless act of violence, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones and those who witnessed this horrific incident.”
We are aware of the anxiety and worry that people who ride and work on the MARTA system may experience as a result of such instances.

Police have been contacted by The Daily Mail for further details.
The city’s transportation system is in dire need of safety improvements, according to passengers who frequent the Oakland stop in southwest Atlanta.
Mantonio Huff, who frequently travels through the station, told Fox 5, “It’s crazy, just need more security, for real.”
“It’s getting bad out here, so they really need to block it off where homeless people can’t come in.”
Less than a week has passed since another traveler claimed to have been stabbed multiple times during the day at the Georgia State stop.
The incident brings back painful memories of the August 22 high-profile murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska aboard a train passing through Charlotte, North Carolina.
Surveillance footage showed a knifeman, identified by authorities as 35-year-old Decarlos Brown, lunging at Zarutska from behind during the random attack.
As the country processed the atrocity, the unsettling footage caused widespread sadness, rage, and concerns about public safety in the Democrat-led city.
Following the attack, Brown’s sister gave the Daily Mail a startling recording of a conversation she had with the suspected murderer six days after his detention.
Before the senseless massacre, Iryna Zarutska had just arrived in the US “seeking safety from the war and hoping for a new beginning,” according to her devastated family.
In a terrifying phone call captured by his sister, the knifeman who is accused of killing Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska talked for the first time while inside.
Brown stated during the call that he thought the government had implanted “materials” in his brain to control his thoughts.
The case is still on hold because Brown, who has schizophrenia, was declared unable to stand trial at the federal level earlier this month.
When Zarutska passed away, she was only 23 years old. The trial’s postponement, according to her devastated family, added “more uncertainty to an already painful process.”
