A recently discovered photograph of Prince Charles and the Queen Mother is a “beautiful reminiscence.”
On what would have been her 121st birthday, PRINCE CHARLES paid a poignant homage to his late grandmother, the Queen Mother.
On Wednesday, the Clarence House Instagram released two photos to commemorate the Queen Mother’s birthday.
A picture of the Prince of Wales as a kid with his grandmother, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward was among the images.
In the beautiful photograph, one of the Queen’s corgis is also immortalized.
“On this day in 1900, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was born,” Clarence House captioned the photos.
“For nearly 50 years, the Queen Mother, The Prince of Wales’ grandmother, resided in Clarence House.
“The Queen Mother received the silver vase with rosemary in the first shot as a present on her 100th birthday.“
Under the photo, royal supporters were quick to express their admiration for the Queen Mother.
“What a lovely tribute to the Queen Mother!” one person exclaimed.
Another person remarked, “A great reminiscence.”
“A woman who knew what it meant to be a princess,” added a third.
“She was stunning!” With that look of love and excitement, Her Majesty reminds me of my great grandmother. “Happy Queen Mother’s Birthday!” another made a comment.
“What a beautiful homage to Prince Charles’s adoring grandma. She was a very extraordinary individual!” a third Instagram user commented.
In March 2002, the Queen Mother died tragically.
She reigned as Queen from 1936 to 1952, when King George VI died.
She was also India’s final Empress when the country attained freedom in 1947.
