Surprising security film shows the terrifying moment an elderly Florida woman was nearly abducted by her ex-boyfriend at gunpoint.
The attempted kidnapping outside a church in Port St. Lucie, an east coast city 50 miles north of Palm Beach, has led to the arrest of Jose Tsu Zamora, 64.
Zamora is seen trying to abduct his unidentified 74-year-old ex-girlfriend in footage of the event released by local police, according to authorities.
According to Port St. Lucie Police Chief Leo Niemzyck, Zamora tried to coerce the victim into his car at gunpoint after approaching her to strike up a discussion.
Nonetheless, a number of others who were present outside the First United Methodist Church stepped in to assist the woman.
According to Niemzyck, “the bravery they showed helped disarm a very dangerous, escalating situation.”
Zamora is seen in surveillance footage firmly guiding the victim by the shoulders in the direction of his car. He was also carrying a gun, according to the police.
