PRINCESS BEATRICE, who has given birth to baby Sienna, her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, may be planning something special to surprise stepson Wolfie over half term.
The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson welcomed a baby girl to the world on September 18. Beatrice, 33, and her husband Edoardo, 38, announced they had named her Sienna earlier this month. However, there was already an important child in her life before then – Wolfie, Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship.
The boy, five, was born in 2016 out of Edoardo’s relationship with his then-fiancée, the American architect Dara Huang.
Princess Beatrice has shown huge affection for Wolfie, whose full name is Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, on multiple occasions.
When announcing her newborn’s name, she tweeted: “We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna.”
This was regarded as a way to ensure the young boy is seen as a part of her family, regardless of not being her biological child.
Princess Beatrice entered her marriage with Edoardo as a stepmother to Wolfie and the bond between the two has seemed natural and spontaneous from day one.
Wolfie had a key role at the wedding, which took place last June in a secret ceremony in Windsor, acting as both page boy and best man for his father.
At the time, a friend of the couple told the Daily Mail that Beatrice was “totally into the stepmum role” and “devoted” to the boy.
They said: “She’s very concerned about getting it right and making every effort to be a second mother to Wolfie.
“She’s ensured there are loads of pictures of him up in their house, so he feels like he has two families, and they do get on well.
“Bea has always been really close to Edo’s family, so it’s natural that Wolfie should become part of hers.
“He’s a super little boy and extremely cute.”
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Princess Beatrice last year shared how much the two enjoy reading together – Oi Frog books by Kes Grey and Jim Field being their favourite: “I had the great honour to become a stepmother, and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favourite stories at bedtime.”
Speaking about lockdown, she said: “My stepson has been, as many children have,. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
