A massive fire has erupted at a chemical plant, prompting police to advise residents to ‘leave the area.’

On Monday, a large ‘chemical fire’ broke out in Aylesbury, shutting down a busy route in both directions while emergency crews battled the blaze.

The “ongoing incident” closed a bypass from the Tring Hill entry slip-road to the Aylesbury Aston Clinton Road exit, Thames Valley Police stated, and the closure will “stay in place for several hours.”

“The A41 bypass is currently closed from the Tring Hill Entry Slip-road to the Aylesbury Aston Clinton Road exit,” Thames Valley Police posted on Facebook.

“This is due to an ongoing event,” says the narrator.

“This will be in place for at least a few hours.”

“Please stay away from the area and arrange a another route.”

“There will be updates throughout the morning,” says the narrator.

“Multiple appliances and staff are now dealing with an incident involving an acetylene cylinder in the area of Aston Clinton,” Bucks and MK Fire said.

“Firefighters are working to cool the cylinder down.

“A 200-meter cordon has been established. The A41 has been impacted in both directions as a result of this.” UPDATE 1030: THE SITE HAS BEEN CLOSED. Due to a local incident, Aston Clinton Household Recycling Centre is closed. It’ll most likely go on for several hours.

Buckinghamshire Recycles has announced the closure of their residential recycling center in Aston Clinton.

Due to the ongoing issue, the College Road North center was forced to close.

“No access to Aston Clinton Household Recycling Centre owing to an incident close,” they posted. It’ll most likely go on for several hours.

“If feasible, postpone your visit until tomorrow, or go to the Aylesbury site, which will be crowded as a result.”
