A jet strikes an office building in Milan, killing eight people.
A private plane collided into a two-story office building in a Milan neighborhood Wednesday, killing eight people.
Firefighters arrived at the crash site near a subway station in San Donato Milanese shortly after 1 p.m., but the pilot, a fellow crew member, and six passengers were pronounced dead on the scene.
One of the victims was a small boy. The victims are thought to be a group of French tourists and a Romanian aircraft crew.
The surrounding parked cars were set ablaze by the burning office building, which was empty at the time. The cause of the accident is being investigated to see if it was due to mechanical breakdown or pilot mistake.
