After allegedly sucking up a sewage worm into his mouth, a Wisconsin guy who frequently goes to his neighbourhood McDonald’s for sweet tea “was contemplating his life.”
According to TMJ4 News, Joe Hauenstein was one of numerous patrons who complained that the Paddock Lake McDonald’s drinks were contaminated with worms.
On April 26, Hauenstein described his terrible encounter to TMJ4, saying, “The worm came through the straw and went into my mouth.”
I spat it out and simply sat there thinking about life because I had never experienced anything like that. It was utterly repulsive.
Hauenstein’s purported terrifying experience wasn’t unique.
On the same day in April, Jzamyne Gurske posted on Facebook after stopping by the Paddock Lake fast-food restaurant with her family to grab a Sprite and a smoothie.
“James got a large Sprite, and there is a big worm in it,” she said angrily, adding that a gigantic worm was floating in the soda they had purchased.
“How does this even occur?” My child drank from this before we realised it was in it, which is why I’m so furious and repulsed.
Several patrons of the Paddock Lake McDonald’s reported that their drinks were contaminated with worms, including Joe Hauenstein. On April 26, he said, he had to spit the worm out of his mouth after sucking it up through the straw.
On April 26, Jzamyne Gurske posted on Facebook after grabbing a smoothie and a Sprite at a fast-food restaurant with her family. After taking a few sips, they found a worm floating in the Sprite.
Gurske told the site that additional people contacted her after she posted her account with some graphic pictures of the worm within the drink, claiming to have experienced the same thing.
The worms at the eatery were the subject of numerous complaints, according to Kenosha County Health.
According to a complaint quoted by TMJ4, during an inspection of the McDonald’s on April 27, a manager reported that they saw worms emerging from a sewage container beneath the drive-through soda and ice machine throughout the weekend.
According to the study, investigators hypothesised that “recent flooding may have caused a failure in the floor drain and tiles.”
Officials said, “This failure may have also allowed water to back siphonage into components of the soda/ice machine.”
“Yeah, and it’s not just an earthworm – it’s a sewage worm, so that makes it even worse,” Hauenstein said, highlighting how the worm’s presumed origins exacerbate the situation.
There was supposedly another event in Pennsylvania:On April 25, Baylee Swope wrote, “I am completely disgusted with roaring spring McDonald’s.”Swope claimed that after finishing her cup of tea, she discovered a worm at the bottom.
Mississippi resident Sarah Gravlee also reported finding a worm in her drink, but only after finishing it.
Numerous complaints regarding the worms at the eatery were reported, according to Kenosha County Health (Stock Image).
You wouldn’t want to give that to a child. No parent would want to give their children a sewage worm.
In addition to the reported incidents at the Paddock Lake McDonald’s, a number of other incidents from all over the United States reported on social media how they discovered worms after buying a drink from their neighbourhood Mickey D’s. On April 25, Baylee Swope wrote from Pennsylvania, “I am absolutely disgusted with roaring spring McDonald’s.”
Swope claimed that after finishing her cup of tea, she discovered a worm at the bottom.
She stated that it was “not the first time” she had witnessed this and that she was submitting a complaint because she had not received any assistance.
After posting about a similar experience, a user from Mississippi vowed never to go back to McDonald’s.
McDonald’s has been contacted by The Daily Mail for comment.
